Halfway Bridge
Steeped in history and conveniently placed on the A272 in the middle of the Sussex countryside lies Halfway Bridge Inn, a splendid country inn that perfectly encapsulates a balance between modern sensibility and rustic charm. Halfway between Midhurst and Petworth, Halfway Bridge is suitably isolated for a weekend break in the beautiful South Downs National Park, whilst still maintaining a central location for the nearby business links of Guildford, Portsmouth, Crawley and Chichester. The leisure resorts of Bognor Regis, Worthing and Brighton are also just a short distance. Hidden away behind Halfway Bridge Inn, secluded in its own courtyard, is the Halfway Bridge Barn. Converted from an 18th century Sussex stable yard and overlooking local farmland, the accommodation comprises twin, double and king-sized bedrooms, all en-suite. Rooms display a simple elegance, furnished using a mixture of natural fibres and woods, resplendent with exceptionally soothing beds; some Victorian brass, some antique pine whilst others have stained oak: All are comfortable and warm. Rooms are thoughtfully designed in a modern context, featuring DVD players and Games Consoles, however care has been taken to use classic country material, giving the rooms a touch of natural elegance and distinction. Each room has a powerful shower and most have baths as well, with one room specially designed for disabled access. A combination of the best of the London markets and sound local produce blend by means of an exciting menu, complimented by a restaurant that stays true to it’s 17th Century history but creates a warming modern ambience. You will never be hurried as you sit back and enjoy yourself in front of one of the five open fires, with a comfortable atmosphere thriving on good food, great company and the gentle art of conversation. In the morning, eat a delicious continental breakfast or the chefs will prepare you a Full English Breakfast to set you up properly for the day. The desserts offer the customary range of temptations, with a wine list that will please even the most experienced connosieur. The bar at Halfway Bridge is a truly traditional affair, with an excellent range of beers and ale. Clean and maintained to a high standard, the relaxed setting is perfect to relish a quiet drink with friends. The beer garden also enjoys a country feel, a fine place to idle away a summer's afternoon in the sun. Halfway Bridge Inn is situated near the ancient medieval market town of Petworth. Set in the unrivalled beauty of the West Sussex countryside. There is plenty to see in the nearby area, including the opulent Arundel Castle, Parham House, Petworth Park, designed by the renowned Capability Brown, Petworth House, site of a fine art collection, Nelson's Victory in Portsmouth and Goodwood, the famous race course.

The Royal Oak Inn
We'd love to welcome you to our 200 year old Inn that now boasts 6 luxurious and individual rooms plus two fully serviced 2 bedroom cottages all converted with loving care from the original barns and cottage buildings. As we are grade 2 listed we have a rather quirky feel everything is unique and everything is individual. We dont have themes because we dont believe we need them but as you will find out the room names and numbers are related to their individual style. Leather armchairs and widescreen tvs abound and of course each room has its own bathroom with power showers and large baths. Special toiletries and bathrobes go without saying. Our Food draws people from all over, the Modern British menu offers classy renditions of pub classics such as Beer Battered Cod and Hand Cut Chips or 28 day aged Sirloin Steak with home made Bearnaise, plus we use local ingredients - Selsey Crab and Diver caught scallops to create dishes with a contemporary twist. Do look on our website for our current menu which changes every couple of months. The daily blackboard specials focus on seasonal dishes reflecting what is available and these change each day. Well behaved children are welcome and we will happily provide smaller portions to suit.
